Understanding ClickFunnels Backpack just got easier! We’ll break down the ten steps in two sections.

First, we’ll discuss the layout of Backpack. In the final five steps, we’ll discuss how to add a Backpack affiliate area to your existing sales funnels.

  1. Start by navigating to the main Backpack screen. Get to this screen by clicking on the “Backpack” icon on the ClickFunnels Dashboard.
  2. Once you’ve done this, you’ll see a screen that details all of the relevant statistics surrounding any affiliates you have set up in your sales funnels.
    1. These statistics outline things such as your affiliates sales, commission, and money paid out. If you’re just getting your sales funnel off the ground, most of these numbers have a “0” value next to them!
  3. Another important feature of the main Backpack screen is the drop down menu that appears to the left of Backpack’s statistical overview. From this menu, you’ll be able to navigate through all of Backpack’s Features.
  4. On this drop-down menu, below the “Affiliate Overview” icon, is the “Manage Affiliates” icon. If you click on this section, you’ll be able to manage all of your affiliates as well as get a glimpse of what each affiliate looks like from the affiliate site’s point of view.
  5. Below this icon is the “Commission Plans” icon, which allows you to monitor and edit the commission rates of each of your sales funnels.
    1. At the top right corner of this page, you can add a commission plan by clicking the “New Commission Plan” icon.
    2. Now that you know what Backpack is, how do you add its power to your ClickFunnels? Let’s take a look at the final five steps on our checklist!
  6. Start by logging onto the ClickFunnels website, and log into your account. Create a new sales funnel. This action is performed by clicking on the “Create Funnel” icon, which is located in the center of the page.
    1. (Note: If you’re trying to add an affiliate area to an existing funnel, don’t worry about creating a new funnel)
  7. Next, locate the “setup custom funnel url” text, which is located at the top right corner of the funnel screen.Click this text, and the site will prompt you to fill in several lines of information. The line you’ll need to fill in is the “path” box.
  8. Next, create a new page in your funnel. Do this by scrolling to the bottom of the menu on the left side of the screen, and click “add new page”. Title it “Affiliate Access” and choose the “Affiliate Access” template type for its layout.
  9. Add another page to your funnel by doing the same thing we talked about. Title this one “Affiliate Area” and choose the “Affiliate Area” template type.

  • The Importance of the Correct Funnel Path: You’ll need to set the correct funnel path for your ClickFunnels. If you don’t, your affiliates won’t make commission from their referrals.
  • Payment Gateway Support: ClickFunnels only (currently) supports affiliate tracking by sales that are processed through Stripe, Recurly, EasyPayDirect, and NMI.
  • Only USD Are Supported: ClickFunnels only supports United States currency, for now. (Sorry VAT Euro Friends! You will have to do some steps manually outside of CF to get yourself fully compliant.)
  • ClickFunnels Only: A visitor must land on one of your a ClickFunnels pages for affiliate links to track and (hopefully) generate commissions.
